Kinston Police: Fatal stabbing, suspect in custody

According to a press release from the Kinston Police Department, on 01/14/2020 at 9:31 p.m., Kinston Police responded to the 7 Bldg. Carver Courts, Kinston, NC in reference to a stabbing. Officers arrived on scene and found a male subject, age 29 of Kinston, with a fatal stab wound to the chest.

The suspect, identified as Anthony Antwon Brooks Jr. age 26 of Kinston, NC was taken into custody moments after this incident occurred near the crime scene. Mr. Brooks was transported to UNC Lenoir for a stab wound to his right arm and later transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC for further treatment. Mr. Brooks will be served with Murder warrants upon his release from the hospital.
