The State of NC reported two deaths in the last 24 hours due to Covid-19 and has 11 counties with zero positive cases. As of 11:00 a.m., April 6, 2020, NCDHHS has reported 2,870 confirmed cases and 33 deaths. Lenoir County has 9 confirmed cases. Greene County has 8 confirmed cases. Jones County has 0 confirmed cases. Updates for COVID-19: Jones County has had 32 residents tested for COVID-19. Twenty-six of those tests are negative and six tests are still pending results.
Snow Hill, NC – Greene County has eight confirmed COVID-19 cases as of 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2020. Out of the eight lab-confirmed positive cases, three of those individuals have recovered, are doing well, and are out of isolation.

Lenoir County Public Schools released this statement on social media today, “Please be assured that LCPS will operate its feeding program unchanged for Good Friday and the week of April 13.” More details coming next week.
In a press release issued Friday afternoon Dacona Smith, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Walmart U.S. shared policy changes effective Saturday, including regulating store entry and exit. The Kinston Walmart has closed entry to the Lawn & Garden and Home & Pharmacy sections. All customers must enter through the Market section on the west side of the front entrance.

The fourth case is related to travel outside of the State. The individual has been in isolation at home awaiting test results. The fifth case is related to travel outside of the county. Both individuals are recovering at home. To protect individual privacy, no further information will be shared.

Snow Hill, NC – A fifth case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in Greene County. The Greene County Department of Public Health received notification of the lab-confirmed case on Thursday, April 2. The individual was tested on March 31. The individual has been in isolation since symptom onset and is recovering at home. To date, Greene County has had five confirmed positive COVID-19 cases, three of those individuals have recovered, are doing well, and are out of isolation.
