I had a productive couple of weeks in both the district and Washington. During our District Work Period, I ventured across the district visiting farms and businesses, and out on the water inspecting the dredging project at Harkers Island. Meeting with constituents and community stakeholders who contribute so much to the vibrance of beautiful Eastern North Carolina is such a pleasure.
I hope you and your family are doing well. We're gearing up for the 2024 Short Session that begins later this month -- wrapping up with interim committee meetings and continuing to conduct legislative research, casework, and constituent communications.

Congress is back in session, and our primary legislative priority is ensuring the government remains funded while reducing reckless spending and addressing the Biden-created crisis at our southern border.
This summer, Eastern North Carolina has been bustling with visitors from across the state and across the nation — coming to experience our wonderful way of life. Lenoir County Master Gardener Volunteers (MGs) have had an eventful quarter of community involvement and education! It was kicked off by celebrating National Honey Bee Day on August 20th at our Lenoir County Farmers Market.
The market will be open on Saturday, April 17th, with fresh flowers, local strawberries and asparagus. The “pork skin man” is also back!
