Hosted 5th Annual WATERS Summit
The 5th Annual Water Adaptations to Ensure Regional Success (WATERS) Summit in Greenville was a great success!
Congressman David Rouzer and I were proud to lead this year’s summit, bringing together stakeholders from across North Carolina to discuss innovative solutions to flooding and other waterway challenges.
These issues directly affect our communities across Eastern North Carolina. By working together across party lines, we can develop practical legislative solutions and long-term strategies to protect our communities, strengthen our infrastructure, and address the water challenges facing our state.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this year’s summit a success. I look forward to continuing this important work.
Celebrated Jones County Groundbreaking Ceremony
I was glad to join local leaders and community members in Trenton for the groundbreaking of the new Jones County Public Works Facility.
Public works may not always make the headlines, but the people who maintain our roads, care for our infrastructure, and keep our communities running play an important role in our daily lives. This new facility invests in those hardworking employees and in Jones County's future.
Jones County is home to people who take pride in their communities and work hard to make them better. I believe strong partnerships between local, state, and federal leaders are essential to helping our communities grow and ensuring they have the resources they need.
It was great to be part of this milestone, and I want to thank the county leaders, staff, and everyone who helped bring this project to this point. I look forward to seeing the progress ahead and the positive impact this facility will have on Jones County for years to come.
Participated in North Carolina Support Our Troops Care Package Event
It was great to visit NC Support Our Troops in Ayden and spend time with the volunteers who work hard to support our service members. I joined them in packing care packages for our troops, a small way to show our appreciation for the men and women who sacrifice so much to defend our country.
I’m grateful to Barbara Whitehead and all the volunteers who give their time to this important mission. Our service members deserve to know their communities back home support them, and I’m proud to see Eastern North Carolinians stepping up to show them that support.
God bless our troops and the volunteers who stand behind them!
Meeting with Ayden Chamber of Commerce
I enjoyed joining the Ayden Chamber of Commerce for lunch to discuss my work in Congress and the issues that matter to Eastern North Carolina.
Staying connected with local business and community leaders helps us understand the challenges facing our communities and ensure their voices are heard in Washington. I appreciate the Chamber inviting me to speak and giving me the opportunity to share a legislative update and hear from those who help keep Ayden moving forward.
Thank you to the Ayden Chamber of Commerce for its continued work supporting our local community!
Meeting with Jones County Sheriff Matt Wineman
Thank you to Jones County Sheriff Matt Wineman for having me by the station, as well as the opportunity to discuss how Congress can be helpful to the mission of community safety.
It is my privilege to fight for federal resources to ensure that our officers have what they need to be successful. I appreciate the work you and your team do, and sacrifices you make, to keep our community safe. I will always support our law enforcement officers in Washington!
Meeting with Meet-and-Greet Hosted by Grifton Mayor Barnes
I had an excellent time meeting with residents and community leaders at a Meet-and-Greet hosted by Grifton Mayor William Barnes. Getting out into Eastern North Carolina and meeting with the people I represent is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. It lets me hear directly from residents, learn about the issues affecting their families, and have honest conversations about our communities' future.
Grifton is an important part of Eastern North Carolina, and I appreciate the opportunity to connect with residents and local leaders who care deeply about their town. Strong communities depend on people who are willing to come together, share ideas, and work toward common goals.
Thank you to everyone who came out and took the time to speak with me. I am grateful for the opportunity to represent Eastern North Carolina in Congress, and I will keep working to ensure our communities have a strong voice in Washington.
