On a quiet day near the end of 2023, I walked around downtown Kinston with no particular destination or purpose in mind. Art 105 was open, and I entered. Upon reaching Bruce D. Ziegler's space, the artist greeted me cheerily, and we began a conversation about artmaking. As we walked around the art-filled space, Ziegler showed me several pieces he had made over the years, and I began to see a pattern, or a style, emerge from the many displayed on the walls and floor.
Art 105 owner Brandon Potter had thousands of dollars in damages to his building on Blount Street recently because of vandalism. Local artist Seraphim Smith, who has a studio at Art 105, is holding a bread baking sale to help cover the cost of the deductibles.

Officers with the Kinston Police Department have been investigating a series of vandalisms at Art 105, 105 W. Blount St., Kinston. The most recent incident occurred on February 13, 2023, that involved someone breaking the windows to the business.
Another building was vandalized in downtown Kinston. Art 105, located next to the Arts Council on Blount Street had the glass to an exterior door smashed.
Art 105 is holding an Open House at 105 W. Blount Street in Kinston. Art 105 has 12 artists with a variety of art mediums on display. There will be live demonstrations, photography, live music, hors d’oeuvres.
