Coleen Patricia Baker McKivergin

Coleen P. (Baker) McKivergin, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, daughter, and sister, passed away on September 13, 2026, at the age of 94 in Kinston, North Carolina.
She was born on July 2, 1932, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Albert and Mildred Baker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim McKivergin; daughter, Kimberly (Barber) Schmidt; stepsons, Tom and Joe McKivergin; and siblings, Eileen Denney, June Frappier, Jacqueline Baker, Dwight Baker, Albert Baker Jr., Francis Baker, Max Baker, and Jerry Baker.
She is survived by her children, Donald (Ruth) Lingg, Cynthia Lingg (Earl) Moore, Pamela (Lingg) Daniels, and Robin (Barber) Heimann; son-in-law, Bob Schmidt; stepchildren, Jim McKivergin and Maggie McKivergin; and sister, Joan Warner. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and numerous other family members and friends.
Coleen was known as the “Walgreens lady.” She was employed there for 20 years in Fort Myers, Florida, following her retirement from Reynolds & Reynolds, where she had worked for 10 years.
She was blessed to travel extensively with her husband, Jim, during their retirement years.

A graveside service will be held at Lindenwood Cemetery Chapel in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 2:30 p.m.
