Patricia Ann Means Steele
Goldsboro – Patricia Ann Means Steele, 93, peacefully went home to be with her Lord on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, surrounded by the love and presence of her family.
Born on February 28, 1932, in Charleston, West Virginia, Patricia was the daughter of the late Arthur Augustus Means and Cora Waugh Means. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carroll Rex Steele; her son, Michael C. Steele; and six siblings.
Patricia dedicated many years of faithful service to her career, retiring from the accounting and finance department of the United States Department of the Air Force. She was known for her strong work ethic, integrity, and attention to detail—qualities that reflected the steadfast character she carried throughout her life.
Patricia lived her life anchored in faith, drawing strength and comfort from her relationship with the Lord. Her quiet spirit, loving heart, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, James A. Steele and wife Judy, David A. Steele and wife Debbie, and Cynthia D. Steele and life partner William J. Anderson; her daughter-in-law, Ruth C. Steele; her grandchildren, Jeffrey S. Steele and wife Amy, Julie S. Duty and husband Jason, Samantha J. Gilliland and husband Billy, and Nathan A. Steele and wife Cassidy; and her ten cherished great-grandchildren.
The family will gather for a private service on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the mausoleum chapel in Wayne Memorial Park. Pastor V. Allen Stocks will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Patricia’s memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
