Jones County Community Closet Extends Shopping Hours Aug. 9–12
TRENTON — The Jones County Community Closet will offer extended shopping hours following the Jones County Back to School Bash, giving residents from Jones County and surrounding communities additional opportunities to browse its full inventory of free clothing.
The Community Closet will participate in the Back to School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 8. Because display space at the event is limited, the Closet will offer one large box of mixed clothing for shoppers to browse. The Back to School Bash is open exclusively to Jones County residents.
Following the event, the Community Closet will open its full inventory during the following extended hours:
Sunday, Aug. 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Monday, Aug. 10, through Wednesday, Aug. 12, from noon to 6 p.m.
The extended shopping hours are open to everyone, regardless of county of residence.
All clothing offered by the Community Closet is free. There are no income requirements or other qualifications, and everyone is welcome to shop, share and benefit from the community resource.
The Closet carries clothing for women, men, children and infants in a variety of sizes. Inventory changes regularly as donations arrive, and the Closet currently has an especially large selection of women’s clothing.
The Jones County Community Closet operates as a community sharing resource where donated clothing is made available to anyone who can use it. The program allows neighbors to support one another while reducing waste and giving gently used clothing a second life.
Donations are accepted 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at the Community Closet behind the Jones County Health Department at 418 N.C. Highway 58 North in Trenton. Donors and shoppers should look for the small storage building with the “Community Closet” sign on the front.
