KPD Weekend Recap: A/C Squads
Here’s a look at some of the calls and traffic stops handled by A/C Squads over the weekend.
𝟎𝟖.𝟏𝟒.𝟐𝟔
9:11 PM – Officers responded to Jackson Lane after a report of gunshots being heard in the area. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate any additional information related to the report.
9:31 PM – Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at Hwy 258 and Banks School Road. The investigation led to the arrest of 42-year-old Joshua Tyndall of Lenoir County for Driving While Impaired. The other driver, 31-year-old Jocqui Gillette of LaGrange, was also arrested on unrelated Orders for Arrest.
𝟎𝟖.𝟏𝟓.𝟐𝟔
6:35 PM – Officers conducted a traffic stop on Dr. MLK Jr. Boulevard involving 38-year-old Raymond Chapman Jr. During the stop, officers discovered Chapman was wanted out of Pennsylvania on forgery charges and out of Virginia on multiple charges, including felony abduction and assault by strangulation. Chapman was taken into custody and is currently being held in the Lenoir County Jail.
10:29 PM – Officers conducted a traffic stop on E. Lenoir Avenue involving 42-year-old Reginald Broadnax Jr. The stop led to the discovery of a concealed firearm, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. The items were seized, and Broadnax was issued a citation and released.

12:02 AM – Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of W. New Bern Road involving 23-year-old Charles Briza of Autryville, NC. The stop led to Briza being arrested for Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. A passenger, 29-year-old Sherrell Butler of Roseboro, NC, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine.
10:24 AM – Officers responded to Mary’s Kitchen for a reported disturbance and identified 23-year-old Shane Straight as the individual involved. Based on statements made by Straight, officers suspected he may be armed with a knife and attempted to conduct a frisk for weapons. Straight pulled away from officers and took a fighting stance. He was ultimately taken into custody and charged with Intoxicated and Disruptive and Felony Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer Causing Injury.
8:52 PM – Officers conducted a traffic stop on E. Caswell Street involving 21-year-old Ronald Jackson Jr. The stop led to the discovery of a concealed firearm. Jackson was issued a citation for Carrying a Concealed Gun and released at the scene.
10:26 PM – Officers conducted a traffic stop involving 29-year-old Tre Hailes of Jacksonville, NC. The stop led to the discovery of psilocybin mushrooms. Hailes was taken into custody and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance.

1:11 AM – Officers responded to Carver Court after receiving information that a juvenile reported missing from Cumberland County was at a residence in Kinston. Officers located the juvenile, who was safely released to her guardian.
