Lenoir County Sheriff's Office Conducts Multi-Agency Traffic Enforcement Operation Ahead of "Speeding Slows You Down" Campaign
On Saturday evening, the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office Crash Reduction Team conducted a multi-agency traffic enforcement operation across Lenoir County in preparation for the statewide "Speeding Slows You Down" campaign, which begins this week.
Deputies, officers, and troopers focused their enforcement efforts on speeding, reckless driving, and impaired driving offenses with the goal of improving roadway safety and reducing preventable crashes.
During the operation, law enforcement officers issued a total of 88 charges and 20 warnings. Enforcement highlights included:
2 Driving While Impaired (DWI) arrests
19 Speeding citations
4 Reckless Driving charges
The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office extends its appreciation to the agencies that participated in this collaborative effort, including the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office B-Shift and SCARR Team, Craven County Sheriff's Office, Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Pender County Sheriff's Office, Onslow County Sheriff's Office, Kinston Police Department, Pink Hill Police Department, Morehead City Police Department, and Smithfield Police Department.
The Sheriff's Office also thanks Lenoir County Communications, Lenoir County Emergency Management, the Lenoir County Magistrate's Office, and the Lenoir County Detention Center for their continued support and assistance in making operations like this possible.
