Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Lenoir County Man on Drug and Firearm Charges
On July 14, 2026, members of the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit and Street Crimes and Rapid Response (SCARR) Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Jason Forbes, 41, of Lenoir County.
During the traffic stop, deputies requested assistance from the Kinston Police Department for the deployment of a K-9. As a result of the investigation, deputies located methamphetamine and a concealed firearm in Forbes' possession.
Jason Forbes was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
Felony Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance
Carrying a Concealed Gun
Forbes was placed in the Lenoir County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond.
