Lenoir County Public Schools Prepares to Celebrate Nearly 600 Graduates During Commencement Week
Lenoir County Public Schools will celebrate the accomplishments of nearly 600 graduates this week as students from across the district prepare to receive their diplomas and take the next step in their educational and career journeys.
The Class of 2026 has once again set a district record for academic scholarships earned, securing more than $37 million in scholarship offers. This marks the sixth consecutive year that LCPS graduates have broken the district's scholarship record, reflecting the continued academic excellence and hard work of students across the county.
Graduation ceremonies will begin on Thursday, June 11, with the Lenoir County Learning Academy and conclude with three traditional high school commencement ceremonies on Saturday, June 13.
All graduation ceremonies require tickets for admission.
Lenoir County Learning Academy
Thursday, June 11 at 10 a.m.
Kennedy Home Chapel
More than a dozen students will graduate from Lenoir County Learning Academy during a ceremony that will also include the school's annual Eighth Grade Rite of Passage. Special recognitions will include awards for the Outstanding High School Student, Outstanding Middle School Student, and Outstanding Senior Behavior Award.
South Lenoir High School
Saturday, June 13 at 9 a.m.
South Lenoir High School Gymnasium
South Lenoir High School will award diplomas to 177 graduates. The ceremony will feature remarks from top students Braden Barnett and Evan Grady. Due to limited seating, the ceremony will be livestreamed in the school's auditorium, which will serve as an overflow viewing location. Tickets are required for entry into both the gymnasium and the auditorium.
Kinston High School
Saturday, June 13 at 11 a.m.
Kinston High School Gymnasium
Kinston High School graduates will hear remarks from Nina Gibson and Avanni Holt. During the ceremony, the school will recognize its North Carolina Scholars, Cum Laude graduates, Viking Scholar, and Academic Scholars. The commencement ceremony will begin promptly at 11 a.m. No entry into the gymnasium will be permitted once the ceremony begins. The event will be livestreamed on the Kinston High School Facebook page.
North Lenoir High School
Saturday, June 13 at 1 p.m.
Lenoir Community College Gymnasium
North Lenoir High School will award diplomas to 215 graduates. Students earning Cum Laude honors and Career and Technical Education recognitions will be recognized during the ceremony. Doors will close at 12:55 p.m., and no entry will be permitted after that time. The ceremony will be livestreamed on the North Lenoir High School Facebook page.
Lenoir County Early College High School graduated 51 graduates in early May. The graduation ceremonies represent the culmination of years of hard work, perseverance, and dedication by students, families, teachers, and staff. From earning record-breaking scholarship offers to preparing for careers, military service, apprenticeships, and higher education, the Class of 2026 leaves Lenoir County Public Schools ready to make an impact in their communities and beyond.
