Help Wanted: Child Protective Services Social Worker

The Jones County Department of Social Services is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Social Worker IA&T โ€“ Child Protective Services (CPS). This important position plays a key role in protecting children and strengthening families throughout Jones County by responding to reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

As a Child Protective Services Social Worker, the selected candidate will conduct investigations, assess child safety and family needs, develop intervention plans, and coordinate services to help ensure the well-being of children and families. Responsibilities include working closely with community partners, legal authorities, and service providers while advocating for the best interests of children and maintaining compliance with state laws and policies. The position also participates in the agencyโ€™s on-call rotation and serves as backup support for the Adult Protective Services unit.

The hiring range for the position is $53,250 to $60,245 annually. If a fully qualified Social Worker IA&T candidate is not available, applicants may be considered for a work-against appointment at the Social Worker I, II, or III level, with salary based on qualifications and experience.

Qualified applicants should meet North Carolina social work standards through a combination of education and experience in social work, counseling, human services, or related fields. Equivalent combinations of training and experience may also be considered.
