Jones County Department of Social Services Seeking Adult Protective Services Social Worker

Trenton, NC – The Jones County Department of Social Services is currently accepting applications for the position of Social Worker IA&T – Adult Protective Services (APS). This vital role serves some of the county’s most vulnerable residents by investigating reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation and helping ensure the safety and well-being of adults in need.

The successful candidate will conduct assessments, investigate allegations of abuse or neglect, coordinate services with community partners and legal authorities, and develop intervention plans that protect clients while respecting their rights and independence. The position also participates in the agency’s on-call rotation and serves as backup support for the Child Protective Services unit.

The hiring range for the position is $54,848 to $62,052 annually. Jones County may consider applicants at the Social Worker I, II, or III level based on qualifications and experience, with salary adjustments accordingly.

Qualified applicants should possess a degree and experience consistent with North Carolina social work standards, including social work, counseling, human services, or related fields. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may also be considered.
