Obituary: Wayne Davis Edwards

Mr. Wayne Davis Edwards, age 81, passed away Saturday evening, May 23, 2026. Born in Johnston County on July 16, 1944, he was the son of Bobby and Mildred Davis Edwards.

Wayne had made his home in Greene County for more than thirty-seven years, following marriage to his wife, Carole. While his health permitted, Wayne attended Grimsley Original Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Carole Dail Edwards; children, grandchildren, and sisters.

Graveside Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 28th, at the Snow Hill Cemetery with Pastor Keith Phillips officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service and other times at the family residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to Grimsley OFWB Church, c/o Jeanean Mitchell, 290 Beddard Farm Road, Snow Hill, NC 28580.
