Lenoir County Man Arrested Following Domestic Disturbance and DWI Investigation
On May 13, 2026, deputies with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reduction Team and D Shift responded to 3199 U.S. Highway 258 North in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with Dorean M. Cannon near the residence. During the investigation, Cannon fled the area in a silver Dodge Charger at a high rate of speed.
Deputies quickly located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Cannon then fled on foot but was apprehended without further incident with assistance from the Kinston Police Department.
During the investigation, deputies determined Cannon had damaged the victim’s vehicle mirror prior to law enforcement’s arrival. Deputies also observed signs of impairment and initiated a driving while impaired investigation.
As a result of the investigation, Dorean M. Cannon was charged with the following offenses:
Driving While Impaired
Injury to Personal Property
Resisting a Public Officer
Open Container After Consuming Alcohol
Driving While License Revoked – Impaired Revocation
Cannon received a $2,000 secured bond.
