Kayleigh Quinerly: I am your 2026-Magic Mile Media Intern

I am a content creator, a connector, a beauty enthusiast, and someone who genuinely believes that young people have something powerful and impactful to say.

My name is Kayleigh Quinerly and I am your 2026-Magic Mile Media Intern. I’d like to share a bit about myself, so consider this my official introduction.

I recently made a move from North Lenoir High School to Kinston High School. Yes, a part of me will forever be a Hawk at heart, but I am now out here repping that green and gold, and I must say, it feels pretty good. KHS has welcomed me with open arms, and I have jumped in headfirst. I am currently a member of four clubs, not including serving as a Student Ambassador for Kinston High School — a role I take handle with poise and patience because representing my school and my peers positively is something I take seriously.

Outside of school I wear a lot of hats, and I love every single one of them. I create beauty and lifestyle content— hair, lashes, student-teen balance, and real-life moments that speak to what it feels like to be a 16-year-old girl figuring it all out in real time. I run my own hair and lash business, and I have led hair care events through our local senior nonprofit, Lenoir County Council on Aging, that reminded me just how much a simple act of service can mean to someone. LCCOA is also where I created and managed social media pages.

What drives me most is the people. I love networking, making genuine connections, and learning from everyone I meet. I have had the honor of speaking at our county board meetings, being nominated for Governor's School, leading community events, and more. I love being busy.

When I am not creating or building, you can find me fishing, hunting, reading, exploring Kinston's parks, or shopping at our local boutiques- my favorites being -"Just add Salt, Leon Thomas, and South Neck Clothing and Apparel store. I am big on community and supporting small businesses in your own backyard feels amazing. When you can’t find me in any of those places, you can find me at Lions Water Adventure where I work part-time in Guest Relations— and when the weather is just right, a lifeguard.

With all those wonderful experiences, my all-time favorite place to be is Neuse News. In middle school, I was known as iCarly, referencing the TV show about a teenage girl with her own blog constantly recording her and her friends' every move. In 2023, I started creating content in hopes of gaining traction and interacting with an audience with the same interests as I. Let’s just say it didn’t work how I wanted due to an inconsistency in scheduling and creating. With my content beginning to thrive in 2025, I realized I wanted to gain more exposure to marketing.

I had been watching Neuse News & Magic Mile Media's social media pages for a while, and I was utterly blown away by the close-knit connection & amazing content they had. I then knew these are the people I want to grow with. In these next couple of months, my mission is to learn more about the field of marketing, journalism, and public relations while, helping Kinston understand that with the help of young minds & new ideas, the future of this town will be much greater. This community has given me so much, and everything I do is my way of giving it back.

I am so glad to be there. Let's build something together. Thank you.
