Lenoir County manager to present recommended budget Monday
Lenoir County commissioners will get their first look Monday at County Manager Michael James’ recommended budget for fiscal year 2026-27.
The Board of Commissioners meets at 4 p.m. Monday, May 18, in the commissioners’ chambers at the Lenoir County Administration Building, 101 N. Queen St. in Kinston.
The recommended budget is listed under the county manager’s items on the agenda. Details of the spending plan were not included in the agenda packet.
The presentation is expected to outline the manager’s proposed tax rate, spending priorities and funding recommendations for county departments, public safety, schools, capital needs and outside agencies.
Commissioners may make changes before adopting a final budget. Counties must adopt a budget before the new fiscal year begins July 1.
