NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Fiscal Year 2023-2024

Manager’s Recommended Budget

In accordance with N.C.G.S. 159-12(b) for the purpose of taking comments from the public with regards to the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 budget, as proposed and submitted by the County Manager to the Board of Commissioners on May 15, 2023, the Lenoir County Board of Commissioners will conduct a Public Hearing on Monday, June 5, 2023, during the regular meeting of the Commissioners which begins at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Chambers located at 130 South Queen Street, Kinston, NC.

At the time of the public hearing, the Board may adopt the FY 23-24 budget and budget ordinance or they may adopt these measures at a later date, but no later than June 30, 2023. The recommended date for adoption of these measures is Monday, June 19, 2023.

The Fiscal Year 2023-2024 budget, as submitted, for Lenoir County government, proposes appropriated fund balance of $751,045 to balance the budget, revenues of $74,493,795 with the tax rate remaining the same at $.845 per $100 valuation of property listed in Lenoir County for taxation as of January 1, 2023.
