Woman arrested in larceny investigation involving stolen boat

On April 10, 2026, deputies with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2600 block of Pauls Path Road in Kinston in reference to the reported larceny of a boat and trailer.

On April 24, 2026, A-Shift deputies located the stolen boat and trailer on Cecil Drive in Kinston. During the course of the investigation, deputies determined that Candida Jarman, 50, had unlawfully sold the boat after being entrusted with storing it for the owner.

As a result of the investigation, warrants were obtained charging Jarman with the following offenses:

Embezzlement (Felony)

Obtaining Property by False Pretense (Felony)

On April 28, 2026, Jarman was arrested by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office and received a secured bond.
