Two Arrested in Business Larceny Investigation
On February 28, 2026, at approximately 6:00 a.m., a male and female suspect stole several items from a business located in the 7500 block of Highway 70, outside the Town of La Grange.
The business owners contacted the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office to report the larceny and provided photographs of the suspects. D-Shift Deputies and Detectives responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. Utilizing newly acquired technology equipment recently purchased by the Sheriff’s Office, Detectives were able to identify both the vehicle involved and the two suspects.
The suspects were identified as Jonathan Howell of Goldsboro and Lisa Gross of Goldsboro.
Sheriff Jackie Rogers, Lenoir County Detectives, and members of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office worked throughout the day on Saturday attempting to locate the suspects but were unsuccessful.
On March 1, 2026, Deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office located the suspects on Berkeley Boulevard in Goldsboro and took both individuals into custody without incident.
Deputies with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office transported Howell and Gross back to Lenoir County, where they were placed in the Lenoir County Jail.
Jonathan Howell was charged with six counts of Felony Larceny and six counts of Felony Conspiracy. He received a $75,000 secured bond.
Lisa Gross was charged with six counts of Felony Larceny and six counts of Felony Conspiracy. She received a $75,000 secured bond.
This investigation remains ongoing.
