Help Wanted: Public Health Nurse II-Post-Partum/Newborn Home Visiting Nurse

As a member of the Lenoir County Government Health Department, you can make an impact! The Health Department is seeking candidates for a Public Health Nurse II-Post-Partum/Newborn Home Visiting Nurse. Candidates in this class will will ensure program guidelines are met and initiate changes and/or new programs in a timely manner. This position will provide quality services in the area of postpartum and newborn home visits. This position provides care and education according to assessment need; provide Assessments on child and Adult Health Clinic Patients; be a proficient user in and have a good understanding of NCIR and Patagonia and also understand how they function in each program; give adult and child immunizations; and serve as a resource to patients and community partners. The PHN II is responsible for the quality of the health care delivered to the patients served by the agency. This work requires specialized knowledge in nursing theory and practices which include: nursing assessment and evaluation, principles and techniques utilized in the provision of nursing care and coordination of services.

Minimum Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing/one year of experience

• License/Certification required by North Carolina Board of Nursing

• Possess considerable knowledge of nursing theory, practices, principles, and techniques

• Possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License

• Pass a background check
