Greene County considers increases to EMS service fees
The Greene County Board of Commissioners will consider approving adjustments to emergency medical services fees following a recommendation from the county’s billing provider during their Jan. 5 meeting.
Colleton Billing, which handles EMS billing for the county, proposed rate increases for several services based on its annual review. Proposed changes include increases to advanced life support and basic life support emergency transport charges.
Under the proposal, the ALS Level 1 emergency transport fee would increase from $622.37 to $690.01, while the BLS emergency transport fee would increase from $561.22 to $581.05. Specialty care transport fees would also increase.
County officials said the proposed rates are consistent with industry billing practices and annual adjustments.
Commissioners will vote on whether to approve the revised fee schedule. The Greene County Board of Commissioners will meet at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, at the Greene County Operations Center, located at 229 Kingold Blvd. in Snow Hill. The meeting is open to the public.
