Neuse Regional Libraries Launches Adult Poetry Contest; Entries Due Sept. 8

Are you a poet living in Lenoir, Jones, or Greene County? Help Neuse Regional Libraries celebrate Eastern North Carolina's creativity by submitting an original and previously unpublished work. The contest is open to ages 18 and up with a maximum of 300 words; please limit one entry per participant. 

All entries will be judged by library staff as well as featured judges, smART Kinston poet Stephanie Brea and Kinston Poet Laureate Clevette Roberts. An awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 25 at the Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library at 6:30 p.m. 1st place is a $100 gift card, 2nd place is a $75 gift card, and 3rd place is a $50 gift card. Send submissions by September 8, 2025, to events@neuselibrary.org or submit to any Neuse Regional Libraries location.
