The Lenoir County Board of Health will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. at the Lenoir County Health Department to consider repealing its local tattoo inspection rule.
Under North Carolina law, tattoo businesses are inspected annually by local health departments. Lenoir County’s rule goes further, requiring quarterly inspections of tattoo parlors to check sterilization equipment, instruments, and records. Repealing the rule would bring the county back in line with the state’s once-a-year inspection schedule.
All residents are invited to attend and share their views. Questions may be directed to Health Director Pamela Brown at 252-526-4212.
