La Grange man charged in fatal hit and run on Paul’s Path Road
A La Grange man has been charged in connection with the death of a woman whose body was found in a ditch along Paul’s Path Road in Lenoir County on Saturday afternoon.
First Sgt. Christopher Knox with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol confirmed that 53-year-old Steven Hawkins is charged with felony hit and run involving serious injury or death. The victim’s name has not yet been released.
Authorities say two people walking along the road discovered the woman’s body and called 911. The incident remains under investigation.
