USDA Rual Development State Director participates in ribbon cutting with Jones County Emergency Medical Services
Rural Development’s $1million investment will assist first responders in providing essential services for residents of Jones County
TRENTON — USDA Rural Development State Director Robert Hosford along with representatives from North Carolina Congressional offices and Jones County leadership participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new Jones County emergency medical services building in Trenton today.
Rural Development invested $1 million through a USDA Emergency Rural Healthcare Grant to construct a new emergency medical services building and renovate the county’s emergency operations center. Both facilities are vital for the continued safety of Jones County rural residents.
“I am excited to celebrate the completion of another project in Jones County that will assist the rural residents of this area,” said Hosford. “Rural Development has invested over $10 million over the years to assist their first responders have access to the latest technology and the county’s local population have access to clean drinking water.”
The new 3,480 square foot EMS building will include:
• Two ambulance bays
• Bedrooms
• Offices
• Bathrooms
• Decontamination rooms
• Storage Area
• Kitchen and Day Room
USDA Emergency Rural Healthcare Grants assist rural areas with advance ideas and solutions to solve regional rural health care problems to support the long-term sustainability of rural health.
