Woman gives false ID, caught with gun at gas station
Convicted Felon Arrested After Attempting to Provide False Identity to Officers
On May 18, 2025, at approximately 9:11 PM, officers with the Kinston Police Department’s D-Squad responded to the Marathon gas station at 1050 W New Bern Road regarding a report of a possible road rage incident.
While speaking with the reporting party by phone, a woman approached the officers. The individual, later identified as 29-year-old Meyonna Miller of Jacksonville, NC, had a visible firearm in her pants pocket. For safety purposes, officers secured the weapon while they worked to determine her involvement in the incident.
Miller initially provided officers with a false name and date of birth, claiming to be her sister. Through further investigation, officers determined her true identity and learned that she is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Miller was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
Identity Theft
Resist, Obstruct, and Delay a Public Officer
She was transported to the Lenoir County Jail, where she was placed under a secured bond.
At the conclusion of the investigation, it was determined that Miller was involved in the road rage investigation.
