As a member of the Lenoir County Government Health Department, you can make a difference! The Health Department is seeking candidates for an Environmental Health Specialist.
Candidates work involves promotion of public health through education, surveillance, consultation, inspection, and enforcement of state, local and federal environmental health laws and regulations. Candidates for employment must have practical knowledge of microbiology, biology, chemistry, food science, epidemiology, and soil science. Employees in this classification serve in a critical role that protects all Lenoir County citizens.

Minimum Requirements:
• Graduate from a four-year college with coursework in physical or biological sciences and two years in environmental health
• Approval for registration by the North Carolina Board of Environmental Health Specialist Examiners
• Possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License
• Pass a background check
