Obituary: Betsy Sutton Gray
La Grange- Betsy Sutton Gray, 87, peacefully went home on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Born April 8, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Alton and Lorena Sutton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Christine Gray.
Betsy cherished her family, especially time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A service of love and remembrance will be held by the graveside at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Kathy McAbee officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Betsy is survived by her beloved husband, Harper Gray Jr. of the home; sons, A.H. Gray III (Terry) and Lee Gray (Virginia); grandchildren, Beth Gray (Chris) and Jeremy McLawhorn; great-grandchildren, Addyson and Jaxxon; brother, Charles Sutton (Sue); sisters-in-law, Betty Parker and Sara Singleton (Jimmy); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
