KPD warns community of scam targeting seniors
The Kinston Police Department released the following information:
SCAM ALERT
We’ve taken several recent reports of scammers calling seniors claiming they’ve won money or a new car from “Publisher’s Clearing House.” The catch? They ask you to send money or gift cards to “claim” the prize.
If you have to pay to receive it, it’s a scam.
Please talk with your parents, grandparents, and neighbors.
