Lenoir County to hold public hearing on Project Ready Pad incentive
The Lenoir County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing Monday, Nov. 17, at 4 p.m. to consider awarding an economic development incentive to a company identified as Project Ready Pad.
The hearing will take place in the Commissioners’ Chambers, Room 201, on the second floor of the Lenoir County Administration Building at 101 N. Queen St. in Kinston.
The proposed incentive totals about $262,896 and is based on the company’s planned investment and job creation in the county. The final amount may vary depending on the company’s actual investment.
According to county officials, companies approved for incentives must meet performance targets and pay property taxes before receiving any incentive payment. The value of property tax revenue generated from the project is expected to exceed the total incentive amount.
Questions about the proposed agreement can be directed to Lenoir County Economic Development Director Trey Cash at 252-663-0871.
