Operation Christmas Child collection sites open across Lenoir and Jones counties

Several churches in Lenoir and Jones counties are serving as local drop-off sites for Operation Christmas Child during National Collection Week, which runs Nov. 17 through Nov. 24. Volunteers will accept gift-filled shoeboxes that are distributed to children around the world through Samaritan’s Purse.

In Kinston, 902 Church at 2009 Carey Road will be open for collection each day of the week. Hours include morning and evening options through Nov. 24.

Freedom Fellowship Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, located at 469 Joe Nunn Road, is also operating as a drop-off site with daily hours including weekend collections.

In La Grange, Trinity Free Will Baptist Church at 6260 Washington Street is accepting shoeboxes throughout the week, offering both daytime and evening opportunities on Nov. 18.

Cypress Creek Methodist Church at 2858 Highway 41 West in Trenton is serving as the Jones County location, with multiple collection periods each day including morning, midday, and weekend times.

Operation Christmas Child sends gift-filled shoeboxes packed by volunteers to children in more than 100 countries. The organization partners with local churches to distribute the boxes at community events that include a Gospel presentation.

National Collection Week continues through Monday, Nov. 24. Hours for each site vary by location.
