Traffic stop leads to pursuit and arrest
On November 17, 2025, at approximately 1:43 a.m., officers with the Kinston Police Department’s C-Squad attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2018 Nissan Altima for a traffic violation in the area of Greenbriar Road. When officers activated their emergency blue lights, the vehicle failed to stop and fled from the scene.
The pursuit continued for several blocks before the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot in the 1200 block of Airlee Drive. Although the driver initially escaped, officers were able to identify him as Nathan Casey (24) of Dudley, North Carolina. Warrants were obtained for Casey for Felony Flee to Elude, Resisting, Obstructing, and Delaying an Officer, along with multiple traffic violations.
At approximately 3:23 a.m., officers conducting were surveillance and located Casey on the 700 block of Doctors Drive. He was taken into custody without further incident and is currently being held in the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond.
The vehicle driven by Casey was seized in accordance with North Carolina’s “Run and Done” provisions.
