Obituary: Freddie Brink Poppell
Freddie Brink Poppell, a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather, peacefully departed this life on November 8, 2025. He loved nothing more than sharing a good story or laughter with those he cherished. His loyalty, humor, and gentle soul left a lasting impact on every life he touched.
A proud veteran, Freddie honorably served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. He had a lifelong love for airplanes and took great joy in spending time outdoors, whether it was fishing or simply appreciating the beauty of nature.
Freddie will always be remembered for his big heart, simple ways, and the warmth he brought to all who knew him. His laughter, kindness, and easy-going spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Park Joseph Poppell; mother, Iris Virginia Sadler; and his brother, Danny Harbin. Freddie is survived by his devoted wife, Lila Robinson Poppell; children, Brittnee Tillery (Matt), Josh Long (Kayla), Sandi McCabe (Nick), Cindy Barbee (Rob), and Steven Foy (Maura); brothers, Joseph Poppell (Barbara), Dale Harbin, Paul Harbin; and eight beloved grandchildren.
