Lenoir County deputies arrest suspect wanted on multiple charges; Stolen dogs recovered

On October 7, 2025, deputies with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office “D” Shift responded to a residence in the 5000 block of Davis Hardy Road in Seven Springs, NC, to conduct a warrant check and follow up on a report involving three possibly stolen dogs.

Deputies encountered William Glen Skeens, 61, of Seven Springs, who had an outstanding warrant for arrest for Sexual Battery, Assault on a Female, Communicating Threats, and Misdemeanor Larceny. When deputies attempted to take Skeens into custody, he resisted arrest and began fighting with deputies. Deputies were able to gain control and take Skeens into custody without further incident.

Following the arrest, deputies obtained and executed a search warrant for the residence with assistance from the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office General Investigations Division and Lenoir County Animal Control. During the search, deputies located the stolen dogs, which were returned to their rightful owner through Animal Control.

Skeens was transported to the Lenoir County Detention Center, where he was served with the outstanding warrants and charged with the following additional offenses:

Outstanding Warrants:

Misdemeanor Sexual Battery

Misdemeanor Assault on a Female

Misdemeanor Communicating Threats

Misdemeanor Larceny

Additional Charges:

(3) Counts – Felony Larceny of a Dog

(2) Counts – Resisting a Public Officer

Skeens did not receive a bond due to being on pretrial release at the time of arrest.

The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office appreciates the cooperation of Lenoir County Animal Control for their assistance in this case.
