14-year-old in possession of a weapon of mass destruction arrested

KPD's D-Squad Officers were patrolling the area of Stroud Avenue and Williams Street after reports of subjects "knocking and pushing on vehicles."

Officers made contact with a three subjects in the area. Officers conducted a frisk after one of the subjects continued to make suspicious movements and discovered a 14 year-old male had a firearm in his waistband. The officers attempted to detain the juvenile and he began pushing and kicking the officers. Officers were able to gain compliance and take the juvenile into custody without further incident. The firearm in his waistband was a sawed-off shotgun. Officers contacted Juvenile Justice and obtained a secure custody order for Posses a Weapon of Mass Destruction, Carrying Concealed Gun, Resisting Arrest, and Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer. The juvenile was transported to a secure juvenile facility.
