Obituary: James “Buck” Foyles, Sr.

Kinston- James “Buck” Foyles, Sr., 78, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023.

A Celebration of his Life will be conducted Monday at 6:30pm in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5 to 6:30pm.

Buck was a native of Greene County but lived most of his life in Kinston. He worked with Kinston Plumbing and Heating until he eventually started his own plumbing business, Buck’s Plumbing Company. While he loved to work, the love he had for his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was unmatched. He enjoyed traveling to the North Carolina Smoky Mountains with his wife several times throughout the year, especially when the fish were biting, food was good, and the leaves were changing in the fall. Aside from that, he also loved hunting, collecting and restoring old Farmall Tractors, working in his garden, and piddling in his shop. He was an all-around good man with a heart of gold that never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Merle Foyles; brothers, Nelson Foyles and Jeffrey “Koon” Foyles.

Buck is survived by his wife of 17 years, Rose Foyles; children, Ronnie Foyles, Ashleigh (Jeremy) Smith, Angel (Kent) Bennett and Brandie Tyndall; grandchildren, Tyler (Magan) Foyles, Faith Foyles, Jeri-Beth (Nick) Maness, Heather Smith, Taylor Jordy, and Kyle (Kaitlyn) Pelton; great-grandchildren, Titus and Matthew Foyles, Blaise and Smith Maness; brothers, Howard and Nicky Foyles; sister, Teresa F. Stroud; several special nieces, nephews and extended family.

Arrangements made by Edwards Funeral Home & Cremations. Online condolences may be expressed at www.edwardsfhc.com.
