Greene County Sheriff's Office announces passing of former Deputy Jesse King

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office posted the following on their Facebook Page:

The Greene County Sheriff's Office is sad to announce that former Deputy Jesse King passed away April 19th 2022 at Vidant Hospital in Greenville.

Jesse began working at the Greene County Sheriff's Office in June of 2021 and worked serving Greene County till December of 2021 when he had to leave due to medical issues. The Sheriff's Office and his family were optimistic about his return to service and the job that Jesse was passionate about, unfortunately that could not be.

During the time that Jesse served as a Deputy he preformed an outstanding job serving the citizens of Greene County and was ever positive about his role as a Deputy and what part he could give back to the community. Jesse was a joyful soul and will be sorely missed. We ask that Jesse's family be in your thoughts and prayers as they move forward.

The funeral services for Jesse will be private, however condolences can be sent to Don Brown Funeral Home in Ayden.
