Dan Perry: Living in a world full of chaos and uncertainty

The question I’ve heard being asked is, “How do I live in this world full of chaos and uncertainty?”

It’s so obvious that something is wrong! Things are definitely not like they used to be. It wasn’t so long ago that we all felt reasonably safe to go out on our streets. Now in some of our major cities, everybody is afraid, especially at night. We are all concerned with human smugglers, sex traffickers and dangerous drugs.

If you are a student of the Bible, you will realize that Jesus the Christ predicted all of this would happen in the last days. In Matthew 24:12 He said, “Because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” So how are we to respond in this chaotic world?

Here’s the way I see it: What we really want and need worldwide is the peace of God which surpasses all understanding. And we can only have the peace of God which comes only from God when we are at peace with God. That simply means that if you really want God’s peace, you must first be at peace with God. And you can only be at peace with God when you are in right standing with God. God’s Word is clear that the only way you can overcome your unsaved and lost standing with God is to accept His only begotten Son as your Lord and Savior. That is the essence of what John 3:16 says. We all start out by being God’s enemy. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior you are in right standing with God, and therefore you are at peace with God. He in turn gives you the peace of God which you so desperately need to live in this world of chaos and uncertainty.

Friends, that’s the Truth as I see it. That’s what the Word of God says. Check me out.

If you think I’m wrong, please feel free to let your feelings be made known. Remember, Jesus said, “And you shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).
