NC Institute of Political Leadership adds BJ Murphy to Board of Directors

RALEIGH– The North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership (IOPL) announced today the appointment of BJ Murphy to its board of directors. In this role, Murphy will support the nonprofit’s work to produce better qualified, ethical, accessible, and more representative public leaders.

“The IOPL is well known across the state for attracting current and rising leaders, and coaching them in best practices of political leadership,” said Murphy. “I am honored to serve in this advisory role and am looking forward to giving back to our great state.”

Murphy served two four-year terms as Kinston’s mayor and founded Magic Mile Media, a digital communications marketing agency, in 2016. Murphy serves as the publisher of NeuseNews.comNCPoliticalNews.com, and soon-coming DuplinReview.com. He also is an advisor for DavidsonLocal.com. A graduate of East Carolina University, he was named to the College of Business Management Advisory Council in 2019 and named to East Carolina’s inaugural Top 40 Under 40 class in 2015.
