The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather outbreak

The NWS has issued a severe weather outbreak for North Carolina on March 18th. On Thursday afternoon, impacts may include strong, damaging winds. Thunderstorms could lead to structural damage, trees down/uprooted, and power outages. Isolated tornadoes are possible, with a few potentially strong, resulting in areas of enhanced to significant damage.

Wind Advisories may be needed for portions of the Outer Banks from Kill Devil Hills south and west to Ocracoke.
