A prayer for government by Pastor Hank Jarman

A prayer for government by Pastor Hank Jarman

Dear Heavenly Father, we exalt You above all others for You are our Maker and our God. We humbly come before You in prayer in this moment. We ask you for forgiveness and for healing Father God and we pray for all people across the world that do not know You as their God nor Jesus as their Savior. We ask for strength for ourselves as Christian’s that we live our life in such a way that others are drawn to You God and not pushed away. Father may we truly and purposely live out in our everyday lives the words spoken in 1 Peter 2:13-17 Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake, whether to the king as supreme, or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men— as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God.  Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.”

Father we pray for our government today all over the world that they lead their respective countries with intentional Godly ways. In the United States we pray for our Executive Branch of government, for every position held, appointed or hired, that they also lead, live, and make decisions with Your wisdom and understanding for the best result and plan of Your divine will for all people. We pray for our Legislative Branch of government as they make decisions on all legislature that governs our everyday lives. May they be moved by You O God to make decisions that are for the good and betterment of all the people and all walks of life we pray! We pray for our Judicial Branch of government today Father that You would place the “Mind of Christ” within every person who works in the judicial branch that they make choices with a Godly wisdom and may there be a revival of true and right ethics within all government and we pray that all dishonesty fades away from all government and those who are most affected by the lack of justice would be restored today in the Name of Jesus!

Father we pray the inspired words of St. Paul in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 “Therefore I exhort [strongly encourage] first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” May we, Your created people, so love each other as to not speak words that hurt but lift each other up in a manner that brings glory, honor, and praise to Your Name O God! We pray today for our local county and city government that they will be inspired by Your greatness Father God and that they will lead in such a way that it shows great respect to You and to Your creation and that it benefits all people, at all times, and in the same way!

Father please hear our prayer as we continue to humble ourselves and submit ourselves first to Your authority and to those who govern our places that we live that there will be a coming together in Godly love and a true renewal and new beginning of the power of The Holy Spirit in all people and may that Spirit shine brightly for all to see and may honor You O God in all that we do! Thank You Father and we ask this prayer in the Mighty Name of Our Risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! AMEN!
