Judah McBynum, Kinston, basketball

McBynum had a pair of strong games last week to help Kinston go 2-0. The senior poured in 16 points in a 94-56 victory over Ayden-Grifton on Feb. 5, then followed with a career-high 25 in a 62-58 win against West Craven three days later. McBynum scored 20 in the second half against the Eagles.

His dream job: entrepreneur, to make a lot of money independently

Taliyah Jones, Kinston, basketball

Jones played a strong role in helping the Vikings pick up a pair of easy victories. The junior nearly outscored Ayden-Grifton by herself with 20 points in a 67-22 win Feb. 5 and followed with 14 in a 67-43 victory over West Craven three days later.

Favorite food: Chicken alfredo

One place she would like to travel to: Miami

Her dream job: private investigator, because she’s pretty good at figuring things out
