Minott played a solid role in helping the Vikings win their 15th straight Eastern Carolina Conference tournament title. The junior’s best games came in the ECC semifinals with nine points in a 63-50 victory over West Craven Feb. 20, followed by another nine as the Vikings defeated Greene Central 60-25 in the tournament finals two days later.

Samantha Lee, Kinston, basketball

Lee played a pivotal role in the Vikings winning their sixth consecutive ECC tournament championship. The senior had a team-high 12 points in a 47-32 victory over South Lenoir Feb. 20 before hitting a runner to tie the ECC championship game late and two free throws to close it out in a 45-42 win over Washington two days later.
