Sheriff recommends voluntary evacuation for Lenoir County residents in low-lying areas

Sheriff Ronnie Ingram is asking all residents in Lenoir County to evacuate if they live in low-lying or flood-prone areas.

“Our residents’ safety is the most important thing to us,” Ingram said. “If you live in a low-lying area or an area that is prone to flooding, you need to evacuate as soon as possible.”

As of 1 p.m., Sept. 11, 2018, Hurricane Florence is a Category 4 storm that is predicted to seriously impact Lenoir County.
