Arendell Parrott swimming off to good start

Arendell Parrott picked up its first two wins of the swimming season Monday at the Kinston Community Center.

The Patriots’ boys team defeated Wake Christian 204-69 and Faith Christian 204-77 while the girls defeated Wake Christian 182-63 and Faith Christian 182-86. Emily Piwowarski won in the 50 meter freestyle and 100 meter butterfly, Mary Scott Sheppard won the 200 meter individual medley, Grayson Dismukes took victory in the 100 meter freestyle, Parker Sheppard won in the 100 meter backstroke and Lucas Ouano was first in the 100 meter butterfly.

The Patriots’ next meet will be held on Dec. 10 against Wayne Country Day and Cape Fear Academy at 4 p.m. at the Kinston Community Center. It will be the last match of 2018 before APA takes on conference opponents on Jan. 8. The conference championship will be held on Feb. 4, also at the KCC.
