Quartet of APA swimmers qualify for season-ending state meet

Four Parrott Academy swimmers qualified for the season-ending state meet during a dual competition against Cary Christian on Thursday.

On the boys’ side, Parker Sheppard advanced in the 100-yard backstroke, while Hodges Manning punched his ticket in the 50 free.

Anna Fountain will battle the best in the state in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly. Mary Scott Sheppard qualified in the 100 backstroke.

Grayson Dismukes (200 free) and Matthew Piwowarski (500 free) each won an individual event against Cary Christian.

The Patriot girls defeated Cary 134-102, while the boys prevailed 138-103.
