Arendell Parrott wins fourth straight Coastal Rivers Conference title

APA is still undefeated and won a fourth consecutive conference title in the process, defeating Grace Christian 25-19, 25-13, 25-18 Tuesday.

Mackenzie Pope had 19 kills and 20 assists for the Patriots (17-0) with Alli Grant Avery (18 kills, four service aces), Virginia Edmonson (10 assists, four blocks) and Jorja Tuten (four blocks) all playing strong roles.

APA plays Wilmington Christian Friday to close the regular season.

 

Ayden-Grifton continues streak against North Lenoir

LA GRANGE | The Chargers have continued their winning ways, picking up their 16th consecutive victory with a 25-8, 25-17, 28-26 match over North Lenoir Tuesday.

The teams played six days ago and Ayden-Grifton (16-1, 8-0) registered another straight sets victory to remain undefeated in the Eastern Carolina Conference. Emily Dykes led the Chargers with 11 kills and six blocks, with Alexia Bryant (10 kills), Zion Hardy (nine kills), Aaleyah Garris (nine kills, three blocks) and Jordan Cannon (40 assists) all contributing in a major way.

For the Hawks (12-4, 5-3), Paytyn Jones had five kills and two blocks and Kennedy Sullivan added 10 digs.

 

South Lenoir defeats Greene Central

SNOW HILL | In the second of four consecutive game days, South Lenoir shook off Monday’s loss to West Craven to defeat Greene Central 25-17, 25-23, 25-19 Tuesday on the road.

The Blue Devils (8-6, 4-3) will host Kinston Wednesday before traveling to face conference rival North Lenoir Thursday. Greene Central (3-12, 2-7) will face Spring Creek Thursday at home.

Arendell Parrott’s rally falls in loss to Grace Christian

Senior Night nearly had a dramatic finish, but it an Arendell Parrott comeback came up short Tuesday.

The Patriots fell 4-3 to Grace Christian Tuesday, but nearly rallied after being behind 4-0. Harrison Hall scored two goals and Harris Barker added one for the Patriots in the final nine minutes, with Marshal Taylor, Kolby Jones and Barker adding assists.

Parrott (4-14) will have to wait until Sunday to see if the team is playoff-bound.

RALEIGH | Arendell Parrott traveled to face 4A powerhouse Cardinal Gibbons, but fell 6-3 Tuesday.

The Patriots (7-3) play at home Wednesday against Grace Christian.
