BOYS’ SOCCER

Arendell Parrott rolls over  John Paul II

The Patriots picked up a 9-0 victory over John Paul II Monday with a balanced effort.

Harris Barker, George Dismukes, Caleb Allen and Mateus Prado each scored two goals for Arendell Parrott (6-4) while Taylor Llewellyn added a goal. Llewellyn and John Grice combined for the shutout.

The Patriots host Coastal Christian Wednesday.

South Lenoir wins conference opener

VANCEBORO — The Blue Devils opened up Eastern Carolina Conference play with a 2-1 win over West Craven on the road Monday.

Jesus Lopez and Jose Ortiz provided the goals for South Lenoir (4-2, 1-0) with Diego Rodriguez getting two assists. The Blue Devils host Kinston Wednesday in their ECC home opener.

VOLLEYBALL

Bethel Christian rolls past Hilltop Christian

The Trojans continued their strong season-opening homestand  with a 25-7, 25-14, 25-19 win over Hilltop Christian Monday.

Laura Fulcher recorded six kills and 13 service aces for Bethel Christian (4-2) with Ashley Vause adding four kills. The Trojans finish their homestand against Wilson Christian Tuesday before playing six consecutive road games.

North Lenoir defeats Rosewood in straight sets

GOLDSBORO — The Hawks started and finished strong in a 25-8, 27-25, 25-12 win over the Eagles Monday.

Paytyn Jones had 12 kills to lead North Lenoir (7-3), with Reena Parris adding nine and Kanijah Taylor contributing five. The Hawks get back into Eastern Carolina Conference play Tuesday at home against West Craven.
